Aligarh: Aligarh Development Authority (ADA) has announced a comprehensive security measure for all girls’ inter and degree colleges in the city. These institutions will be under continuous CCTV surveillance, with cameras installed at entrance and exit gates. The initiative aims to ensure the safety of girl students and will be supported by a control room located in the women’s police station.
This security project is part of a broader infrastructure plan for the fiscal year 2024-25, with Rs 8.10 crore allocated from the ADA infrastructure fund. The initiative includes a range of development projects, as discussed in a recent meeting chaired by Commissioner Chaitra B. Out of 35 approved projects, some highlights are the extension of the gym at Ahilyabai Holkar Sports Stadium, development of roads, and lighting improvements in various city areas. Notably, this is the first time such extensive security work has been funded by the ADA, reflecting a strong commitment to the welfare and security of girl students in Aligarh.
